Bahregan district Industrial Wastewater Treatment system EPC Project

The Bahregan crude oil processing facilities are located within Iranian territorial waters of the Persian Gulf. The facilities consist of crude oil / gas / water separation units, sweetening (Sulphur removal) units, RVP stabilization units, desalting units and associated utilities.
Oil and gas are produced in the Bahregan district by Soroosh, Norooz, Bahregansar Hendijan offshore production complexes.
There is an existing onshore oil processing facilities in Bahregan which the related WWTP is considered as part of the project.
There are two existing Soroosh and Norooz offshore oil processing platforms which the related WWTP are also considered as part of the project.
The produced water from onshore/ offshore oil processing facilities is routed to the new WWTP for oil removal and the outlet wastewater, with oil in water specification of less than 10 ppm, is released to the sea in the first stage and to the water injection system in the future.
The complete Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning of the new WWTP for the following plants are in the scope of works:

  • Bahregan onshore new WWTP

Capacity:20,000 BPD
Inlet oil content:2,000 ppm
Outlet oil content:10 ppm (max.)
Technology:Compact Floatation Unit (CFU)

  • Bahregan offshore Soroosh production platform new WWTP

Capacity:2x45,000 BPD
Inlet oil content:3,000 ppm
Outlet oil content:10 ppm (max.)
Technology:Compact Floatation Unit (CFU)

  • Bahregan offshore Norooz production platform new WWTP

Capacity:30,000 BPD
Inlet oil content:3,000 ppm
Outlet oil content:10 ppm (max.)
Technology:Compact Floatation Unit (CFU)

Project goals and policies:

  • Persian Golf new environmental regulations compliancy (Kuwait protocol).
  • Maximizing the oil recovery.
  • Minimizing the water content of the outlet oil for Norooz platform.
  • Using up to date technologies.
  • Minimizing operation and maintenance costs.
  • HSE latest standards compliancy.

Project stages:

  • Site survey and data gathering.
  • Wastewater inline testing with pilot unit.
  • Basic design engineering.
  • Detailed design and site engineering.
  • Site mobilization
  • Procurement and materials supply
  • Construction and Installation works.
  • Pre-commissioning, commissioning, start-up and final hand-over.
